Date: 01/13/14

The public is encouraged to participate in St. Peter’s American Red Cross Blood Drive Thursday, Jan. 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Hospital’s Education Center.

Appointments may be made at, enter sponsor code: st.petes, or call Mallory Frank at 444-2130. Walk-ins are welcome, but the wait may be longer as those with appointments are given first priority. St. Peter’s is located at 2475 Broadway; please use the Main Entrance off of Winne Avenue.

A blood donor card or driver’s license, or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients.

Every 27 minutes someone in Montana needs blood. As the nation’s single largest supplier of blood and blood products, the Red Cross is dedicated to ensuring that every patient who needs a lifesaving transfusion is able to receive one. In fact, the Red Cross must collect more than 700 pints of blood each week to meet the needs of patients at more than 30 hospitals and transfusion centers in Montana.
