About Me

After graduating from Carroll College, John Michelotti, MD, a Butte native, earned his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, where he also completed his residency in orthopedic surgery. Afterwards, he was selected for advanced fellowship training in sports medicine in Vail, Colo., where he worked with the Denver Broncos, the Colorado Rockies and the United States Ski Team.

Dr. Michelotti brings his love of sports to his practice of orthopedic sports medicine. He thrives on the care of athletes and people of all ages in a wide variety of sporting and recreational activities. For over 25 years, he has been the team physician for Carrol College, Helena High, Helena Capital, East Helena High and many other regional teams throughout Montana.

Dr. Michelotti and his wife Lori raised their three children Rosie, Nick and Ellie in the Helena Community. In their free time, they enjoy hiking with their golden retriever Mookie, biking, skiing, fishing, camping, traveling and anything associated with Bruce Springsteen.

Insurance

St. Peter's Health accepts most major insurances but may not be contracted with them all. To verify if we are in-network with your specific insurance, contact your insurance carrier.

Patients are expected to furnish all the necessary health insurance information and sign the medical release and insurance assignment authorizations. St. Peter’s Health will submit complete insurance claims on the appropriate forms for the charges recorded.

Keep in mind that insurance is a contract between the patient and his or her insurance company and that St. Peter’s Health is acting only as a billing agent. St. Peter’s Health cannot pursue payment from insurance carriers in the event of non-payment or benefit denials. If a patient’s insurance carrier has not submitted payment within 30 days of billing, St. Peter’s Health expects the patient to pay the balance in full. Patients receive a monthly statement showing any account activity and the remaining balance due.
