St. Peter’s Health Registered Nurses Ashley Brown and Erin Winegart received the DAISY Awards for Extraordinary Nurses. DAISY Awardees are selected quarterly from nominations submitted by St. Peter’s patients, their families and fellow colleagues.
Brown works on the Surgical Unit and the family members who nominated her, wanted to recognize the extraordinary care she provided to their father, and to their entire family, at the end of his life. “During own of the most difficult seasons our family has ever faced, Ashley was a steady source of comfort, strength and compassion. She cared for our dad with such dignity and tenderness, always making sure he was comfortable and treated with deep respect.”
The colleague who nominated Winegart said she is an exceptional resource to the Urgent Care team. “On multiple occasions, Erin as been the first person to step in when patients required immediate, emergent care. She consistently remains calm under pressure, efficiently performs critical interventions and confidently directs coworkers to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.”
