St. Peter’s Corporate Compliance Officer Earns FASHRM Designation

Michelle Rush FASHRM Designation

June 12, 2026

Michelle Rush, MBA, BS, CPHRM, has been awarded the designation of Fellow of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (FASHRM), recognizing her professional achievement and excellence in health care risk management.

The FASHRM designation is one of the field's highest honors. Candidates must meet rigorous standards in academic and professional credentials, continuing education, experience and contributions to the profession, including leadership, lecturing and publishing.

For Rush, the recognition marks both a professional milestone and a personal accomplishment. “While it absolutely feels good to be recognized by ASHRM, the personal significance actually means more to me, to have set my own goal, steadily worked toward achieving it and finally reached success,” she said.

Rush, who has 15 years of experience in risk management, emphasized the importance of risk management in health care, noting that its success is often reflected in what did not happen.

“Risk management is a unique vocation because success can be defined by what doesn't happen,” Rush said. “Every avoided adverse event or risk mitigated represents a patient and team member protected.”

Rush credits her colleagues for helping keep her work meaningful and engaging. “A great big thank you to all the St. Peter's team members who reach out to me saying, 'Hey, this weird thing happened and I just want to bounce it off you,” she said.

ASHRM, part of the American Hospital Association, is the nation's leading professional society for health care risk management professionals.
