Becker’s Hospital Review recently released its 2025 edition of the "Great Community Hospitals" list, and St. Peter's Health is one of two Montana hospitals to be included on the list.
“We are extremely honored to be recognized by Becker’s as one of the 100 Great Community Hospitals. This recognition reflects the dedication of our entire team to delivering compassionate, innovative and community-focused care,” said Wade Johnson, CEO. “At St. Peter’s, we’re committed to meeting the evolving needs of the people we serve by investing in programs that improve health outcomes both inside and outside our health system. It’s humbling to see our work in areas like behavioral health, chronic disease and maternal and child health highlighted on a national stage.”
St. Peter’s was recognized for its ability to implement programs based on its community health needs assessment, such as behavioral health, chronic disease management, and housing insecurity. It is also the first health system in the state to introduce transcranial magnetic stimulation, a non-invasive procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain, for depression and the only system to offer a hospital-based home dialysis program. In addition to those programs, St. Peter's expanded perinatal mental health services and became the first breast milk donation collection site in Montana.
Each year, Becker's recognizes community hospitals throughout the country for the work they do in delivering accessible, affordable care to patients beyond major metropolitan areas. Hospitals recognized on this list are committed to elevating the health outcomes within the communities they serve. They are selected based on nominations and insights from respected rankings and rating organizations, including U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades, CMS, The Leapfrog Group, the National Rural Health Association, and the Chartis Center for Rural Health. Organizations do not pay and cannot pay for inclusion on this list.
