St. Peter’s Health welcomes Rachel Blitzer, MD

Rachel Blitzer, MD, earned her medical degree from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire. She received a bachelor’s degree in economics, cum laude, from Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut. She completed her general surgery residency at the University of California San Diego, where she also completed a research fellowship in minimally invasive surgery.

Her surgical training and research include experience in minimally invasive hernia repair, esophageal surgery, laparoscopic gallbladder surgery and enhanced recovery after surgery protocols. Blitzer has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications on minimally invasive and general surgery topics, with research published in Surgical Endoscopy, Surgery and the Journal of the American College of Surgeons.

Blitzer is seeing patients at St. Peter’s Health Winne Clinic.
