St. Peter’s Health presented BEE Awards to Physical Therapist Amanda Moe and Peer Support Specialist Erin Olson. A companion to the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, the BEE Award is given to any exceptional general or professional St. Peter’s staff member nominated by patients, family members, or colleagues.
The patient who nominated Moe, wanted to recognize her for her kindness and compassion while the patient was recovering from a knee replacement. “I was in pain and emotional. Amanda reassured me that crying was normal and asked to give me a hug, which I really needed at that point.”
The patient who nominated Olson wanted to thank him for helping her make the changes she needed to make in her life. During a visit to the Emergency Room, Olson sat with the patient for two hours and helped her start her journey to recovery. “I am 81 days clean and am moving to Billings to become an employee at a treatment center.”
