The LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group’s (ERG) mission is to establish a secure and inclusive environment within St. Peter’s for LGBTQIA+ staff and allies to engage in constructive conversations about issues important to LGBTQIA+ communities and community members. The ERG collaborates with community partners and works to promote system and community understanding of the significance of addressing the health needs of LGBTQIA+ patients and the disparities they face. 

The ERG is currently working on the following: 

  • Growing membership and participation in the ERG
  • Strengthening community collaboration
  • Continuing opportunities for community building

Recent accomplishments include: 

  • Establishing communication channels and collaboration with community organizations to include a collaborative Pride survey in July 2023
  • Success in actively engaging in this year’s 2023 Pride activities externally as well as internally hosting a week of education and awareness-building opportunities 
  • Gaining executive approval for St. Peter’s participation in the Healthcare Equality Index (HEI)
