Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex and Asexual/Aromantic/Agender communities often face higher rates of mental health difficulties and social isolation, as well as higher rates of certain chronic conditions. Gallup estimates placed LGBT individuals as comprising 2.9 percent of Montana’s total population in 2019.

St. Peter’s Resources

St. Peter’s offers the following resources to help address LGBTQIA+ health disparities: 

HIV Services:

  • Routine STI testing and counseling
  • Provision of PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) services for those whom PrEP is indicated
  • Provision of PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) for those whom PEP is indicated
  • HIV care and treatment services
  • Referral to supportive services connected to HIV care, including transportation, mental health services, housing and substance abuse services

LGBTQIA+ Community Advisory Committee

We are currently seeking members to join an advisory committee made up of community members passionate about LGBTQIA+ health and health care in the Helena area. This group will specifically examine our current health care offerings for members of LGBTQIA+ communities, and will collaborate with us to improve those offerings over the coming years. The group will meet once a month.
